I’m Kris Wiener, a New York based actress and improviser. Here you can find my reel and resume, plus just some extra information about me in case you were curious.
About Me:
First off, just want to clarify that my last name is pronounced Wiener (wee-ner) as in “quit being such a wiener”. I love my name very much! My parents were US diplomats, so I grew up all over the world. And so throughout childhood I got to teach everyone that my last name was actually, can you believe, a bad/dirty/sexy-ish word? But I was allowed to say it because it was my name. I took full advantage of this loophole in all the countries we lived: Russia, Egypt, and France.
I came back to the US for college, planning to study Middle Eastern Languages and Cultures like a good Foreign Service child. But I spent all my time doing extracurricular plays. Then I found The Upright Citizens Brigade Theater and never looked back. UCB gave me a stage to explore my artistic voice, the confidence to pursue a performing career, and truly best of all, it introduced me to my now-husband. Also named Chris. I know, it’s very fun.
The past two years I’ve fully committed to my training as an actor at the Terry Knickerbocker Studio. I also made a human child, I adore him, and he dominates my instagram account. He lives with me and my husband in Brooklyn, along with our dog and two cats. I like to take care of cute things!
